THE FABRICS OF FAKAHA

0 Review
Description

In the early days, it was Soro Dossongui who began drawing these designs on houses to decorate them. Today, they are crafted on cotton. The motifs are deeply rooted in tradition and carry a sacred essence. Originally, the symbolic subjects were recommended by a fetish priest based on the concerns of individuals (bad omens, desire for motherhood, health...). These fabrics were worn as wraparound skirts by women, and as hunting or dancing costumes by men, and were believed to protect those who wore them. It is worth noting that the village is located 35 km south of Korhogo.
