THE NAWA FALLS

0 Review
Description

You may have always heard of Niagara Falls, but do you know the Nawa Falls? These stunning cascades in the city of Soubré, standing approximately five (5) to six (6) meters high, are a source of great pride for the city. They are also a sacred site for local communities, such as the Bakoué people. The falls are located on the Sassandra river. It is worth knowing that the name "Nawa" is the name of the protective spirit of the city of Soubré. When you visit the falls, you will notice white strips tied to the trees. This is no ordinary sight — these are offerings made to the spirit "Nawa" to seek peace, success, prosperity, and much more. A ritual is then performed to complete the ceremony.
