If you're passing through Grand-Bassam and looking for souvenirs, make sure to stop by the artisan village. Spanning approximately 1km, it is the perfect place to find your keepsakes. With over 300 stalls housing artisan shops, there is something for everyone. This artisan village dates back to 1976 and was built by craftspeople from various ethnic groups. Today, it is governed by the AVAB (Association du Village Artisanal de Bassam), an association with more than 2,000 members, the majority of whom are artisans.
