THE FETISH HUT OF NIOFOUIN

0 Review
Description

The village of Niofouin is located more than 50 km from the town of Korhogo. This village is unique because of its fetish hut, which serves as the keeper of the wishes and prayers of Niofouin's inhabitants, as well as the guardian of the village's financial prosperity. The two fetish huts are home to the entities Diby and Kalegbin. You will notice numerous animal collars at the entrance of the hut — and they carry a deep meaning. They represent a request from the entity Diby, who demands the sacrifice of dogs in order to grant the wishes of the people. The entity Kalegbin, on the other hand, is believed to ward off spells, epidemics, bad luck, and curses. As a fun fact, Niofouin was one of the filming locations for the movie "Black and White in Color" by Jean-Jacques Annaud in 1976.
